Country Living is my favorite magazine by far but horse ribbons were really hot a year ago. I just received September's issue this week and there is a horse collecting theme. Horse Show Ribbons are one of the featured items. The price for ribbons can range from $9.99 - $20. I think they also had had a beautiful display of vintage ribbons in a frame last month. Here are a few of the vintage ribbons I have sold.
A year ago my ribbons were selling like hot cakes but now not as quick. I hope Country Living makes a new interest in all show ribbons! Not only are horse ribbons beautiful but dairy and dog too.

PLEASE! No More Snow!
This is the amount of snow I remember as a kid but everything seemed large as a kid. This winter the white stuff isn't going away and every time it comes it comes up to our knees! It is no fun trekking out to barn in this stuff. I am looking forward to Spring because Willow eats nonstop and she needs some green stuff so I can stop feeding her all day. The next day our snowman and dog had already started to melt and Willow had eaten the buttons and eyes off. Nothing lasts in our yard!

Every Child Must Rebel
And Willow rebelled last night. The neighbor over the hill called and said she couldn't put her blind dog outside because Willow was in her yard. Now what she thought Willow was going to do to the do I don't know. So my husband dropped me off but after the woman, who happened to be our cousin, had chased Willow around she was too frightened to come home with me and ran further into the woods! I gave up and started the 3/4 mile walk home in the dark. About 1/2 way home I look across the road and Willow is following me. Deer can't see well but they can hear. She knew every moment where I was. So I took off through the fields until we reached our fields. When she saw our wire fences she knew "home" and took off for the front porch. She hasn't left our sight all day today. I'm sure some scary lady yelling at her was no fun. Wish teenagers learned their lessons so easily!

Holly Tries to Ride WIllow
It isn't unusual for people to stop by and want to pet and feed the deer and other animals. Today our cousins stopped and Holly was a little afraid of Willow. In a matter of seconds she was ready to "ride" Willow!

You Should See the Looks!
The daily ritual of feeding Willow by hand so the dogs won't eat her food. It takes about 10 minutes and it's always on the front porch because that is her favorite place to hang out. I am hoping that there isn't an accident because the road is just ahead. You should see the looks! Quite often we get people who turn around several times for another look. Sometimes they even take out their cell phones. Not like they all haven't seen a deer before....Maybe it's the blue collar that throws them off.

Willow and the new Pup

It seems that on the farm there is NEVER a dull moment when it comes to animals. Be it our animals, the neighbor's or the wild animals. Today we got a new puppy and Willow (deer) and the pup took to playing tag with each other. Willow definitely enjoyed teasing the new puppy!
After all that fun outside we came in to find that our award winning Sunny learned how to open the hamster's cage. Not a very good ending for Twix.
